Samantha Keeping

Founder and

Principal Designer

I'm Samantha Keeping, and for nearly three decades I have been designing beautiful interiors that express my clients' visions and lifestyles. I'm an eleven-time recipient of Houzz Awards for design and service, and have been featured in Food and Home and Boulevard, in addition to other local and online publications.

After earning my degrees in Design and Business, I spent ten years gaining invaluable experience working with builders and in retail design before launching Keeping Interiors. Two decades into running my own luxury design firm, I continue to be inspired by the importance of good design and how it enhances your life.

When I’m not designing beautiful spaces, you can find me spending time with my awesome husband, traveling, or out in the garden. I also spend valuable time listening to interior design business podcasts, reading trade magazines, and attending industry trade shows to ensure I’m offering you the latest trends and technology in design. I divide my time between our home in beautiful Santa Barbara and a modern pied-à-terre in Manhattan.

“I believe a project is successful when you feel like yourself when you’re in your space. You can honestly let out an ‘ahhhh’ when you walk in the room and are enveloped in everything that expresses you.“

-Samantha Keeping

Christine Mallard

Interior Designer and
Project Manager

At age 12, Christine was subscribing to Architectural Digest instead of teen magazines and knew that her calling was interior design. She believes that our environments play an essential role in our emotional and physical well-being; designing beautiful interiors is one small way to create a better world, both for ourselves and for those who enter our spaces.

With a BFA in Interior Design, Christine is an irreplaceable part of our team. She brings both creativity and practicality to each project, and she loves finding creative design solutions within the physical constraints of a project. In fact, the more challenging the project, the more satisfying she finds the solutions.

Her greatest loves are her husband and her goldendoodle, Finley, Keeping Interiors’ designer dog.

Chelsea Locatelli

Client Services and

Logistics Manager

Chelsea has always been drawn to creative industries. Her interest in design was sparked when she was only 8 years old, accompanying her grandparents on antique shopping excursions. With a degree in Communications, as well as experience in public relations, event management, journalism, and marketing, Chelsea brings diverse knowledge and expertise to our team. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail keeps our projects running smoothly and efficiently.

Chelsea has been fortunate to call beautiful Santa Barbara home for most of her life, and shares her home with her loving boyfriend, two wonderful teenagers, and a couple of crazy kitties. She enjoys spending time outdoors, adores animals, and is our floral and plant stylist for Keeping Interiors’ photo shoots.

Dashing Designer Doodle, Lead Interior Dogsigner and VP of Morale

Finley has been a pivotal part of the Keeping Interiors team since he was just 8 weeks old. Finley loves being our office dog and takes his role of Lead Interior Dogsigner very seriously, testing rugs and fabric samples for pet-friendliness and durability.

He enjoys greeting our clients and the vendors who visit our office, and he has masterfully trained all the delivery people to bring him treats. In his free time, Finley loves to hike, run on the beach, fetch, and play with his other doggie friends at the park.

We look forward to working with
you to design a beautiful, vibrant
and inspiring space!
